A Disciplinary code stipulates how the organisation proceeds with its disciplinary action. Depending on what the misconduct is and the gravity thereof, it is important that the staff members are aware of the sanctions and consequences of their actions. More importantly, the CCMA or any other arbitration forum will need to see what your organisation’s disciplinary code is and whether your staff has been made aware of this.
